Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your data
1. Information We Collect
We collect: (a) Account information — name, email address, and password when you register. (b) Birth data — date, time, and place of birth that you voluntarily provide for chart generation. (c) Usage data — questions asked, charts generated, and features used. (d) Technical data — IP address, browser type, and device information for security and analytics purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: provide and improve the Service; generate personalized astrological charts and interpretations; send transactional emails (verification, password reset, receipts); process payments through Stripe; detect and prevent fraud and abuse; comply with legal obligations.
3. Birth Data — Special Category
Your birth details (date, time, location) are sensitive personal data used exclusively for astrological calculations. We do not sell, share, or use this data for advertising purposes. Birth data is stored encrypted at rest and is never shared with third parties except as required to provide the Service.
4. Data Sharing
We share data only with: Stripe (payment processing), Anthropic (AI processing of your questions — governed by Anthropic's privacy policy), and AWS (infrastructure hosting). We never sell your personal data to third parties. We may disclose data if required by law.
5. Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Birth profiles and chart data are retained for the duration of your account. Conversation history is retained for 12 months. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@vittaraai.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
You have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to processing; data portability; withdraw consent at any time. California residents have additional rights under CCPA including the right to know what data is collected and to opt out of sale (we do not sell data).
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including: encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS); passwords hashed using bcrypt; database encryption at rest; regular security audits. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
